Chaity & Clochette

♡ Can you share a story about how you met and her famous eye?

During a difficult time in my life facing health battles and personal matters, I met Clochette’s father,
through a mutual friend. Through that friendship I met Clochette randomly as I was leaving the dog park.
She excitedly came up to me eagerly waiting to be caressed. I immediately fell in love with her and in
time her father. 😉

She was born with two eyes. One day the lense of her eyes were detaching and had to be removed. She
is under treatment for her remaining eye but we’re told she will inevitably loose her sight. In the meantime
she loves life and is a constant source of inspiration as she is full of energy.

♡ What’s the nicest/ sweetest comment you’ve ever received?

Positive feedback are always a sweet reward. I have been told that my photography is lovely and that my
gluten-free recipes bring sweet delights but one compliment touches me the most. It’s when people who
face a bad day or health battles express that they feel joy and strength through my gallery. That drives
me to give it my best.

♡ When and why did you start an Instagram account for Clochette?

I introduced Clochette last Winter. I wanted people to be drawn to her courage and strength and use it to
battle life’s challenges. I wanted my audience to see that there is beauty despite physical “imperfections”.
I wanted Clochette’s human sisters to enjoy the experience of being photographed and learn to work as a
team. Lastly I wanted to grow as an artist and develop a new style of photography.

♡ Clochette completes your day when…

The moment I get to hold her in my arms makes my day. I kiss her on her little noggin’ and then slowly on
the curve between her forehead and her nose. It’s the most peaceful moment of my day.

♡ She is so fashionable. Does she love dressing up?

She appreciates the warm sweaters and jackets that serve her well on our cold Canadian winter days.
She looks darling in tutus and pearls but it is simply added for your enjoyment on Instagram.

♡ We love your Instagram feed! What is the inspiration behind your shoots?

Clochette is first and always my inspiration. I wish to share her personality. My style is inspired by my
camping experience with her father, and my love of gardening. That is why there are often plants or props
from nature in my shoots. We speak both French and English in Montreal. I share a French “word of the
week” to tempt you to learn a new language. Finally, I am influenced by my work experience in the
fashion world and wish to share that creative part of me.

♡ What does FriendshipCollar mean to you?

I love the idea of twinning with my dog. It’s a subtle yet beautiful way of communicating my love for her.
The colour that I have chosen is meaningful as well. The orange ribbon represents Awareness for
Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. It is a campaign I take to heart.

♡ What is the craziest thing Clochette does/has ever done?

Clochette’s father brings her on camping trips. That includes taking this three lbs dog kayaking and
climbing a mountain fall (without being carried). She belongs in the wild because that is where she
expresses the most energy, despite her handicap.

♡ How would you describe your friendship with Clochette?

To be clear, Clochette’s father is my best friend. The best way to describe her would be that I adopted a
daughter. As someone who can no longer have children, I enjoy caring for her as though she was my
child.
