Nashville Humane Association

The Nashville Humane Association (NHA) was incorporated in 1946 to protect the well-being of animals in Davidson County. It is one of the oldest service organizations in Nashville! The roots of NHA can be traced back to a society founded in 1887 to protect children from inhumane working conditions and draft horses from mistreatment. 🐴

Their mission is carried out through the following services and activities:

Pet Adoptions: NHA places thousands of animals into loving homes each year.
Animal Resource Center: From animal care, adoption, laws pertaining to animals and more, their resource center helps answer the questions of inquiring people daily!
Lost & Found Pets: Using their system, they have helped many lost Metro pets reunite with their best friends. 💕
Humane Education: NHA personnel travel throughout Davidson County teaching the responsibilities of pet ownership and humane treatment for all animals!
Community Outreach & Spay / Neuter: Rover, their “Big Yellow Bus”, travels throughout Davidson County providing free spay and neuter for those who wish to have their pets altered, yet can’t afford it. 💓 Rover’s mission is to educate the community about proper pet care, in an effort to keep Davidson County pets healthy and decrease the number of unwanted animals.
Foster Care: Volunteers open their homes to foster sick and injured pets that require around-the-clock-care in a nurturing environment – they help these sweet animals prepare for their adoption program!

Adoptable Kit Kat

Kit Kat is available for adoption as of May of 2019!

“Meet Kit Kat. He’s a 2 year old cat that traveled to Nashville all the way from Puerto Rico! He’s a friendly and affectionate guy who likes to look out windows and watch birds, then meow and purr in your lap.

Kit Kat is available for adoption with our friends and supporters over at Mill Creek Animal Hospital. Dr. Manos and her team are providing much love and care, helping with his skin allergies, and absolutely spoiling him until he finds his purr-fect forever home!” 😽
