New Life Animal Rescue in New Jersey
It’s the best day of the week – Find a Friend Friday is here! This week we are featuring pups from New Life Animal Rescue in New Jersey. They do amazing work, taking in dogs and cats that are in desperate need of homes, regularly combing high kill shelters and advocating for injured, sick, pregnant, and all around special needs pups. This nonprofit pours a wealth of time and money in rehabbing and rehoming needy dogs and cats and they adopt out within an hour’s radius of the Marlton, New Jersey area.
This week’s adoptable cuties as of March 2018 are: Francine, Abby, Bentley, Ruby, and Khloe. We hope all of these babies find new besties!
Francine
This very special girl was rescued by New Life with multiple fractures, a body score of 1 out of 9, and the sad story of not knowing love. Since taking her in, she has had to undergo a rear leg amputation (she’s now the most ADORABLE tripod!) but her spirits have soared! She is a house trained, purebred American Staffordshire Terrier with a big heart 💕 and a fondness for snuggles. She is rehabbing excellently (starting at just 26 pounds, she is putting on weight and should reach her healthy weight of around 50 pounds) and doesn’t let being down a leg stop her! She hops and walks around with ease, with joy, and with a spring in her step. Despite her early mistreatment, this girl was born to be someone’s best friend and only wants to love and be loved in return.
Abby
Abby, the 3 year-old wheelie wonder! This 14 pound poodle/Coton de Tulear mix sustained a herniated disc that was left untreated by her former owner, resulting in her need for a wheelchair. This may be our bias, but we are suckers for wheelie dogs and so Abby’s stolen our hearts! Luckily, she is in no pain and she speeds around on her custom pink wheels with ease. She decidedly ADORES people and other dogs, and is an extroverted love bug. Her foster mom describes her as an absolute joy to have around and that she has been incredibly easy to care for.
Bentley
Hit by a car and left paralyzed for 3 years, Bentley the Cavalier king Charles/mix is a trooper who has been through a lot, but you would never know it from his sweet disposition! This 5 year-old cutie has embraced a new life of love and is looking for his forever bestie to grow old with. Killing the game in his snazzy blue wheels, Bentley is building up more and more muscle mass day by day and isn’t letting a little thing like paralysis get him down! It’s truly amazing that he can have endured so much cruelty thanks to humans and yet love them still so so much! He gets along excellently with his doggie foster brother, and is a sweetie to his foster humans. This positive attitude and beautiful spirit cannot be dampened.
Ruby
Discovered heart worm positive and pregnant and scheduled to be put down, this 2 year-old Border Collie/mix has since delivered her pups, proven to be an excellent mama, and is ready for her forever home with a loving human. She is 40 pounds of pure sweetness, but can be a bit timid when meeting new people, due to her prior neglect. She would thrive best in a home where someone could be at home with her daily, at least until she is acclimated. She gets along well with cats and other dogs and is not aggressive, only kind. Just look at those sweet eyes, those adorable ears, and that soft fur!
Khloe
This beautiful, (currently) blind, and caring 8 year-old Maltese was an owner surrender who only wants to be loved. Abandoned because of her blindness and diabetes, Khloe herself never lets those so-called “disabilities” even register as problems. She needs only two tiny insulin shots a day and she receives them with no fuss. She is an oddball in the best way because she LOVES getting bathed, so she’ll always smell so sweetly. Her favorite thing in the world is to give cuddles, and she will be your forever friend in a heartbeat. She also generously comes with 30 days of pet insurance, as New Life wants to ensure she has a chance at her best life. You’ll be hard pressed to find a sweeter girl than this! She is also slated for a pretty miraculous surgery at Penn Vet that has a 90% success rate of returning her sight! 😱 All of this week pups tug on the heartstrings but meet life head on with fun, love, and cuteness! We hope one of these fab five have caught an eye and they will soon come home to their very own besties. If someone’s caught your eye, let us know To adopt any of these pups, click here! Just a reminder, if you adopt one of these beautiful babies from New Life, we’ll get you set up with a brand new collar to start your charmed life off right!
