A New Leash on Life

We have a lofty, but achievable goal of saving all of Alabama’s homeless animals… by reducing the number of pets killed in shelters and by reducing the number of homeless pets on the streets in Alabama’s communities.  All of them deserve our help!”

A New Leash on Life is working very hard to create a no-kill community in Huntsville. Thanks to their efforts, Huntsville now has a live release rate of over 90%!  Just a few years ago, it was only 50%.

Their county and surrounding rural areas of Alabama still need support, and they are working to help the pets that need them, while still supporting Huntsville! You can see some adoptable pets below, as of July 2019, and find all their adoptables on their website.

“Dixon is a handsome and fun boy that came from a rural shelter. We think he is a 3 year old Lab Mix and he has done a fabulous job adjusting to life at our Lodge Adoption Center. Dixon is energetic and would love an active lifestyle where he could blossom! He is very smart and picks up things quickly. We think he would make a great pet!”
