Big breeds are often accused of being vicious, aggressive, and dangerous, but they don’t deserve the stigma they face. After all, big dogs have big hearts!

Here are just a few reasons why big dogs rule, and small dogs drool. (We’re just kidding, of course — we love our furry friends of all shapes and sizes!)

1. They’re basically huge lap dogs.

Sure, they could crush you just by sitting on you, but how could you say no to that smile?!

2. They’re gentle giants.

Check out this sweet St. Bernard letting this mischievous pup climb all over him! 

3. They give big hugs!

Have you ever tried to hug a small dog? It doesn’t usually go down well.

4. They’re the best at cuddling.

Big dogs are much better at being the big spoon!

5. They have nothing to prove.

Big dogs don’t have to bark all the time to prove they’re the biggest and baddest around. (Unlike some dogs… lookin’ at you, chihuahuas.)

6. They’re super sweet, even when they don’t have to be.

This big boy could easily kick the smaller dog out of his bed, but he’s happy to trade. We doubt the smaller pup would return the favor!
